According to research Toucans, Toucanets and Aracaris actually belong to the family Ramphastidae and they are commonly known as "Ramphastids". The bird has approximately 42 recognized species, although there might be a few mix-ups in subspecies, however I will leave that for the ornithologists to argue about. According to history Toucans originated from Mexico, central and South America and they are family that has been vanishing from American aviculture.
