The tank size for a bearded dragon should increase as they grow. Here's a general guide based on age and size:

Hatchling (0–3 months old)

·  Size: 3"–10"

·  Tank Size: 20 gallons minimum (long and shallow tanks preferred)

·  Why: Easier to find food and maintain proper temperatures in smaller enclosures.

Juvenile (3–6 months old)

·  Size: 10"–16"

·  Tank Size: 40 gallons minimum

·  Why: They grow rapidly and need more space to explore and thermoregulate.

Sub-Adult (6–12 months old)

·  Size: 16"–20"

·  Tank Size: 50–75 gallons

·  Why: Increased activity and growth; requires more vertical and horizontal room.

Adult (12+ months old)

·  Size: 18"–24"

·  Tank Size:

o    Minimum: 75 gallons

o    Ideal: 120 gallons or 4x2x2 feet (48"x24"x24")

·  Why: Adults need ample space to roam, bask, and regulate body temperature.

 Tips:

·  Always prioritize length over height—beardies are ground dwellers.

·  Consider upgrading early if your dragon is growing quickly.

·  A larger tank also allows for better temperature gradients and enrichment.
