How to care for the
breed
The shelter and care of the Rabbit : In rabbit
farming the temperature between 10-20oC and humidity between 55-65% is more suitable.
In rabbit farming there are three types of housing systems that can be made to
raise them eg. The hutch system, the cage system and the floor system. For the cage
system the cages are made up of wooden or galvanized wire mesh, while in the hutch
system it contains self-contained cage with roof on the top which can be moved
from one place to another and while the in floor system the floor is covered
with litter material. How to care for the nursing does: Make sure the nursing does are kept in a separate cages. Make sure the noon meal of stale bread and milk is included in morning and evening meal. Immediately after the birth of the kits, make sure the doe is shifted to peaceful place where there is no disturbance of dogs and children.
How to care for the new born kits: After they are born there eyes are blind and they are hairless. The hair of the newborn kits starts to grow in 4th day and they will open their eyes after the 10th day. If they are about 21-23 days old they will start coming out of the nest and start nibbling.
