The Angora rabbit breed is mainly used for wool purpose and it is also known for its best quality wool. The Angora rabbit breed are native to Angora province of Turkey. The Angora rabbit breed produces high amount of Angora wool. This particular breed are quite small in size and they are round in shape. Angora rabbit breed has an average weight of about 2-5.5 kg or  sometimes more. They are also the english Angora, the french Angora, the satin Angora, the giant Angora and the German Angora, all these are the breeds of Angora rabbit. Among all of them the German Angora is the best known breed which gives an average yield of about 1000-1800gm wool. Although the average weight of the english Angora is about 2-3.4kg, while the French Angora is about 3.5-4.5kg, while the giant Angora is about 5.5kg or more and also that of Satin Angora is about 3-4.5kg. One thing about the Angora rabbit breed is that they can live even in a small spaces and they requires temperate climate. The Angora rabbit breed does not require vast grazing land. This particular breed produces six times more wool than sheep on per kg body weight. This particular breed produces wool which are fine, light in weight and also warmer. This particular breed wool is sold costly and is also good for export purposes.
The feeding management in Rabbit
One thing about Rabbit feeding is that they can be feed with all types of grains like sorghum, bajra and other legumes and also green fodder like carrot and cabbage leaves, Lucerne etc. Try and provide Fresh and clean water all the time to the rabbits. Rabbit teeth grows continuously therefore they requires both type of feeds e.g concentrate and green fodder. A rabbit that is up to 1kg requires 40gm of concentrated feed and 40gm of green fodder per day. One thing about Rabbits is that they take their feed only at day time. Make sure the concentrate feed is given in the form of pellets by making small balls of it. Make sure the feed is given according to the size and weight of the rabbit as follow:
  1. Make sure the adult male rabbit that is weighing about 4-5kg is given 100gm of concentrate feed and 250gm of green fodder per day.
  2. Make sure the adult female that is weighing about 4-5kg is given 100gm of concentrate feed and 300gm of green fodder per day.
  3. Make the lactating and pregnant rabbit that is weighing about 4-5kg is given 150gm of concentrate feed and 150gm of green fodder per day.
  4. Make sure the young rabbits that is weighing about 0.6-0.7kg is given 50-75gm of concentrate feed and 150gm of green fodder per day.
The following are some of the things you need to take into consideration when feeding the Rabbit:
  1. Make sure both types of feeds are given in equal amount. Make sure you don’t feed the rabbits only on concentrate feed.
  2. If you want to feed them with good succulent feed you can give them vegetables like turnip, green grass, lucerne, spinach, berseem, etc.
  3. You can also give them kitchen waste like carrot and cauliflower leaves.
  4. Make sure the feed of the does is increased after 5-7 days of kindling.
  5. Make sure a clean and fresh water are available all time in all seasons.
How to care for the breed
 The shelter and care of the Rabbit : In rabbit farming the temperature between 10-20oC and humidity between 55-65% is more suitable. In rabbit farming there are three types of housing systems that can be made to raise them eg. The hutch system, the cage system and the floor system. For the cage system the cages are made up of wooden or galvanized wire mesh, while in the hutch system it contains self-contained cage with roof on the top which can be moved from one place to another and while the in floor system the floor is covered with litter material. 
How to care for the nursing does: Make sure the nursing does are kept in a separate cages. Make sure the noon meal of stale bread and milk is included in morning and evening meal. Immediately after the birth of the kits, make sure the doe is shifted to peaceful place where there is no disturbance of dogs and children.
How to care for the new born kits: After they are born there eyes are blind and they are hairless. The hair of the newborn kits starts to grow in 4th day and they will open their eyes after the 10th day. If they are about 21-23 days old they will start coming out of the nest and start nibbling. If they are around 1 month old they will start taking proper feed.
