1.You need to cut 60 to 100kg of sweet potato vines and then spread them dry in the sun for at least 30 minutes.
2.Then you need to chop the vines into tiny pieces and then mix them with 10 kg of maize germ or pig growers mash.
3.Make sure you sprinkle ½ kg of mineral salt and mix them thoroughly.
4.Then you need to put the mixture into an airtight 250-litre plastic tank. Make sure you compress the vines firmly to remove any air spaces as you do when preparing the silage.
5.Make sure you add some little EM1 solution in other to improve the quality of the silage.
6.Make sure you cover the tank airtight. Make sure you let it stay for at least 14 days (two weeks).
7.You can now open the tank to check if the silage is ready. When you open the tank to check and you observe that the silage has a sweet smell and it has turned yellow in color, it means that it is ready for feeding.
