This animal is monogastric, which
means they have a single stomach and they are herbivorous which means they eat
plants. Starting a Rabbit farm can be very lucrative and profitable if it is done
in a proper way. One thing about Rabbit
is that they need to receive nutrients in specific amounts to grow and perform
at their best. The nutrient which you need to provide for the Rabbit include
the following; Carbohydrates, protein, lipids (or fats), minerals and vitamins.
Although some wild Rabbit eat things like grains, greens, roots and roughages
to actually get the nutrients they need. There are some domestic Rabbits they
are feed with pelleted feed that provides essential nutrients. The feeding aspect
in Rabbit is very important because it account for about 75 percent of the
production costs. Let us look at the feedstuff that are mainly used to
formulate Rabbit feeds.
1.The use of green feeds : The following
growing plants like grasses, weeds and leafy vegetables are mainly use.

rations for dry does, herd bucks and the growing young Rabbit:
1.It must contain 12 to 15 percent crude
protein.
2.It must contain 2 to 3.5 percent fat.
3.It must contain 20 to 27 percent fiber.
4.It must contain 43 to 47 percent
nitrogen-free extract (carbohydrate).
5.It must contain 4 to 6.5 percent ash or
mineral.
The following are are what must contain in the
rations for pregnant and nursing does :
1.It must contain 16 to 20 percent crude
protein.
2.It must contain 3 to 5.5 percent fat.
3.It must contain 15 to 20 percent fiber.
4.It must contain 44 to 50 percent
nitrogen-free extract.
5.It must contain 4.5 to 6.5 percent ash or
mineral.
Feeding your Rabbits very well is very
important because this will actually determine the success of your Rabbit farm.
